  • 26th April 1997

    The Convention of the United Grand Lodges of Germany, at its meeting in Hamburg, decided to establish an independent and regular national Grand Lodge of Old, Free and Accepted Masons in Bulgaria.

  • 20th September 1997

    In their own temple in Sofia, the five Bulgarian lodges: "Svetlina", "Zora", "Serdika", "Zarya" from Orient Sofia and "Black Sea Friends" from Orient Varna, proclaim their union in the Grand Lodge of Old Free and Accepted Masons in Bulgaria. The Light was imported from the OVL of Germany, and Brother Ivan Stavrev was elected as the first Grand Master.

    Schism in Bulgarian Freemasonry. A group of brothers separates and registers the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons IN Bulgaria (the name of the lodge established in 1997 is the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons IN Bulgaria). January 7, 2001 - Installation of the Supreme Council of Bulgaria by the Supreme Council, 33° of the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States.

  • 2005 - 2015

    During the next 10 years, until May 30, 2015, repeated attempts were made to liquidate the first, original and recognized by all the canons of the craft structure of the world Masonic chain, called the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Bulgaria (GLFAMB).

    Grand Master Valery Mitkov, together with a group of Masons, leaves the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Bulgaria and joins the United Grand Lodge of Bulgaria.

    Elected representatives of the lodges of the Grand Lodge of Old Free and Accepted Masons in Bulgaria (VLSSPZB) are gathering at the National Masonic House in Orient Plovdiv to hold an extraordinary general meeting. At this meeting, Prof. Dr. Plamen Mateev was elected as the new Grand Master.

    In Sofia, the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Bulgaria (VLSSPZB), together with six other Grand Lodges, established the International Confederation of Regular and Independent Grand Lodges (CIGLIR).

  • Today

    The Grand Lodge of Old Free and Accepted Masons in Bulgaria (GLOFAMB) has 35 lodges and approximately 730 members.
