What is Freemasonry

Freemasonry in Bulgaria
The radical change of the social and political situation at the beginning of the 90s of the 20th century in Eastern Europe is also the reason for the restoration of the organized Movement of Freemasons in Bulgaria, after a fifty-year hiatus. Due to the severance of the relationship with the short-lived Grand Lodge of Bulgaria from a historical point of view, which worked until 23.01.19411, the process of the Brotherhood's entry into the public life of the country was quite chaotic and fragmented. During this period, separate Lodges with Patents from various European Grand Lodges operated in Bulgaria, the main ones being the Grand Lodge of Yugoslavia, the Grand Lodge of Old, Free and Accepted Masons in Germany, the Swiss Grand Lodge Alpina and the Grand Orient of France.
